The “Blurred Lines” of 2014? That must be what Columbia Records is hoping will happen with Beyonce’s Pharrell/Timbaland produced, “Blow”, as they have just named it the lead pop single off of her new self-titled album. The super groovy, super funky, super naughty song is perfect for the radio, but it’s not the most epic of singles Beyonce could have picked. Either way, we’re super happy, especially because the video puts us in a great mood everytime we see it. So vivid, so fun. Just, amazing.
Beyonce has also announced the Jay Z featured “Drunk In Love” as her lead urban single. This is a move that’s going to see “Drunk In Love” become one of the biggest R&B/Hip Hop records of all time. No doubt. It’s such a banger, and it fits perfectly in that urban/trap lane that’s dominated urban radio for the past year.
Billboard has also announced that the Ryan Tedder/The-Dream produced “XO” (one of the most epic songs on the album) we be Beyonce’s 2nd pop single, to be released later in 2014. My guess is, that is the single Beyonce will really push in efforts of gaining all the huge Grammy nominations come next December. Her tour finishes up at the end of March, so look for “XO” to take over around that time. Beyonce is playing no games in 2014. None. Whatsoever. Everybody who thought they were safe, ha. Because sh still has songs like “Pretty Hurts” and “Partition” and “Mine” and the classic “Rocket” that could all be huge singles. Sucks to suck, everybody not named Beyonce.
