“Nothing Stops Detroit.”
The Motown City, Detroit, has made news in recent days for being the biggest city in the nation to ever file for bankruptcy. It’s a hard knock life for natives of the Michigan city. So when Beyonce stopped by the Palace of Auburn Hills on Saturday, she of course dedicated a special moment to the people of Detroit. She sang one of the best songs ever made, Sam Cooke’s “A Change Is Gonna Come” to the 20,000 ticket holders watching, as images of Detroit legends like Kid Rock and Eminem and Aretha Franklin flashed across the screen behind her. Peep the special moment below:
Detroit’s debt is estimated at $18-20 billion, making it the largest bankruptcy filing for a city in U.S. history.
