Take a look at Beyonce on the cover of TIME Magazine’s annual ‘100 Most Influential People’ Issue. Each year, the magazine selects a group of celebrities, public figures, and athletes to interview for their list. This year — among others like Pope Francis, President Obama, Vladimir Putin, and Kerry Washington — Beyonce has been named the world’s most influential person. She also exclusively released her video for “Pretty Hurts” to time.com, as “Pretty Hurts” will serve as Beyonce’s newest single. Along with the single, she’s launched the #WhatIsPretty campaign via whatispretty.com, where she wants fans to to upload photos & videos to Instagram, showing what pretty means to them. Beyonce, always one for the cause!
Back to the TIME Magazine issue; Beyonce sat down with Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg to talk about being a female boss, and being a role model for young girls and her own daughter.
“I feel like my mother and my daughter have been probably the most influential, and becoming a mother, looking at my daughter in her eyes has made me into a woman and made me very, very strong…Shooting for TIME magazine was eventually one of the goals in my life. It’s something important for me as an artist because it’s not about fashion or style or music. It’s about the influence I’ve had on culture and to be amongst the other influential people is a huge honor for me.”
