‘The BIZZ Plan’ is a video interview profile series that introduces some of Hollywood’s brightest, young, black entrepreneurs and gives us their take on how to succeed in the various avenues of the business world. Created by Benoni Tagoe, a young entrepreneur himself, The BIZZ Plan is Benoni’s way to empower and inspire a new generation of young entrepreneurs, whether they be in the entertainment industry, the media industry, or any industry of their choice.
Benoni, 27, started off working in the music industry as a manager for acts like The Jonas Brothers and Mindless Behavior, until he met Issa Rae, a young black female director in charge of creating the hit YouTube series ‘Awkward Black Girl’ (among other popular YT series) as well as her own upcoming HBO comedy show. Benoni joined Issa’s production team and has since worked with her to create his new web series, amongst other projects. He’s also started his own hip hop digital network, Volume Visual.
‘The BIZZ Plan’ sees weekly profiles delivered to YouTube, in collaboration with Issa Rae Productions. So far, 4 episodes have aired. The first episode focuses on Vine sensation King Bach, the second on lifestyle blogger Taye Hansberry, the third on “triple minority” writer/producer Lisa Nicole Bell, and the final on REVOLT TV editorial director Julian Mitchell.
Up next for Benoni: more weekly profiles, nationwide financial literacy workshops for millennials, and even a book teaching everything he’s learned so far in his 27 years of life.
