I could have sworn that I had made a post about Broods back when they released their debut EP Bridges in January. You see, this brother and sister duo have been working closely with Joel Little on their upcoming album (i.e. the mastermind behind Lorde’s Pure Heroine) and as such, have earned high expectations from their critics. Bridges was met with favourable reviews and judging by this new single, their album will share a similar fate. ‘Mother & Father’ begins with a strong drum pattern that subsides into gorgeous synths and tender vocals. Lyrically, the track reflects on the reality of growing up and finding your own person, which of course is something we can all relate to. It’s not too late to get into Broods, so if you’re a fan of indie-pop and artists like Lorde, Ellie Goulding and MØ, this is definitely worth your time.
