Imagine Dragons’ ‘Radioactive’ Become Longest-Charting Single in Billboard Hot 100 History

Epic news for Imagine Dragons fans. The Las Vegas band’s single “Radioactive” has just broke the record (previously held by Jason Mraz’ “I’m Yours”) for being the longest-charting single in the history of the Billboard Hot 100. The song initially debuted on the chart on August 18, 2012, where it debuted at #98. Today, the song sits at #26, still nowhere close to being done with its run. Much of the success of the song has been it’s genre-bending sound; it’s pop, it’s rock, it’s alternative, it’s adult rock, etc. Not to mention the recent addition of Kendrick Lamar to the remix, which was performed at the Grammy’s.

Meanwhile, AWOLNATION’s “Sail” (No. 40) collects its 76th week on the Hot 100, matching Mraz’s now-second-best longevity. Who will win in the end: “Sail” or “Radioactive”? I think ID has this.
