Asaiah Ziv, is Indie Hip-Hop’s latest up-and-coming musician, who has been creating some well deserved buzz surrounding his artistry as of late. The Las Vegas-native has re-introduced himself to his fans as Asaiah Ziv, after going by the former moniker of KIDD and is quickly becoming an act that we are really excited about. As KIDD the emcee was signed to indie label Infiltrate Music at the young age of 15, to then release his debut album Murder My Flesh, at 17. The album rose to #17 on iTunes Hip-Hop Charts and #14 on Billboards Gospel album chart, respectively.
Having released a mixtape with his music collective HIPSAVVY in 2014, and a reintroduction to his fans as the more musically and artistically centered Asaiah Ziv (which means “God created brilliance”), the rapper released a track called “Ziv?” which began to truly cement his place in hip hop, debuting on DJBooth. “Ziv?” eloquently expresses his point of view on human nature, the world around him and the conditions of our social environment. His lyrics are ridiculously inspiring and enlightening, that one can argue his music as leaning more towards a “stream of consciousness”, than it would towards the single identity of Christian Hip-Hop. Nonetheless, we believe he is definitely on to something that’s different and needed in the ever-growing diverse pool of the industry, and we’re here for it.
