Every now and then there’s a new artist that steps onto the scene with something different, but accompanied with a refreshingly tasteful vocal delivery that garners some industry buzz. And for me, that artist is Leon Bridges. With subject matter and persona all reminiscent of 1950’s Rhythm & Blues and Soul music, the Texas native takes you back to a time of courting woman, drive-in theaters and Zoot Suits.
Although our generation has been wrapped up in the “turn up” or “trap” culture as of late, I think many will appreciate this timeless vibe coming from a young artist. If you’ve grown up with a heavy Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Doo Wop influence in your household, Leon Bridges may just be the artist for you!
