Atlanta native and television star, Lil’ Scrappy has signed a new record label deal with Chinga Chang Records/Orchard/Sony Entertainment. The new label will serve as the home for the distribution and release of his upcoming third album, “Reparations”, executive produced by Scrappy himself. Lil’ Scrappy’s debut album, Bred 2 Die:Born 2 Live, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Hot 200 and #3 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums respectively through BME Recordings/G-Unit Records.
“Reparations” is Scrappy’s first material being released since his 2012 album, Tha Gru$tle. After major delays with the album back in November of 2011, Lil’ Scrappy announced that he would release Tha Gru$tle independently and not through Def Jam Records, shortly thereafter departing from the label.
“Partnering with Chinga Chang Records is the best move I’ve made, since I entered the Hip-Hop game, period!” says Scrappy. “Reparations reflect the maturity and wisdom I’ve learned from being in this industry.”
On December 5, 2013, the reflective singles, “They Hate Me” and “Juicy On My Mind” will go to radio and available to download via major digital retailers. Scrappy will also be rejoining the cast of the hit VH1 show, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” in January. With songs like Young Dro’s “FDB” and YG’s “My Nigga” charting high on the Billboard Charts, it’ll be interesting to see if Scrappy can follow suit.
