Mutya Keisha Siobahn – Flatline | NEW SINGLE

We’re a little late, we know. So forgive us, English readers. If you have no idea who Mutya Keisha Siobahn are, you probably do know, you’re just used to seeing their faces under a different name. These three ladies are the original members of one of the UK’s biggest girl groups ever, The Sugababes. In recent years, the Sugababes have gone through a few line-up changes, which saw the original members leave. Since they left, they no longer owned the name. So when the group decided to re-unite last year, they had to come up with a new name. And MKS, Mutya Keisha Siobahn, is what they came up with. It’s quite long, but for the English audience, the names instantly ring a bell if you were a fan of the group in years past. After lengthy legal battles, they officially announced their comeback last year, with the very popular and harmonious cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “Swimming Pools.”

Anyways, now that that stories out of the way, on to the music. MKS have recently recently their very first single, “Flatline.” “Flatline” is a airy, pop smash produced by Dev Hynes (also known as Blood Orange), who is the man behind Solange’sΒ TrueΒ EP. The smart lyrics (helmed by MKS), and the “whoa-oh-oh” chants during the chorus, mixed with the stadium drums, make for an immediately infectious record, and future smash hit.
