Interscope Records has let loose a new Robin Thicke track as the July 30th release date for his Blurred Lines album pulls closer. “Take It Easy On Me” sees Robin continue his run of uptempo records, but still without compromising his quality. Produced by Timbaland, the record strays far away from the sonics of Timbo’s work with Justin Timberlake, and sees Robin enter the pop/R&B in a way that Usher has perfected over the last few years with songs like “OMG” and “Twisted.” It’s R&B, but it’s very much so pop at the same time. And it’s super fun and catchy. Listen to the song below:
Great record! Had we not already got confirmation that the Dr. Luke/Will.i.am produced “Give It 2 Me” is his second single, we’d say this would be perfect. I doubt Robin will choose 3 uptempos singles in a row though. But shit, then again, maybe he will. Interscope is definitely happy at his new found mainstream success, as are his fans.
