If you aren’t familiar with Skeme, he used to be pretty close with Kendrick Lamar and the Black Hippy movement. At one point, he was meant to sign with TDE as it’s fifth signee. Once TDE and Interscope linked up, Skeme signed a deal with The Game’s Blood Money Entertainment, while still fielding label meetings from majors like Roc Nation and Def Jam. Though he’s still an indie artst, Skeme has garnered nationwide buzz over the past couple of years thanks to his Ingleword mixtape (and ghost-writing Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy”). Recently Skeme — who hails from Inglewood, California — teamed up with BJ The Chicago Kid for his new track “Khalil’s Song,” which will be on his upcoming project Ingleworld 2. It’s a very introspective, laid-back record. Listen to it above.
