If you haven’t listened yet, Ego Death by The Internet is easily one of the best albums of 2015. Why? It’s an album. A body of work. Start to finish, it’s an amazing ride back to the soulful sounds of the early 2000s.
For those not in the know, The Internet originally got it’s start as part of Odd Future: the collective that’s spawned stars like Frank Ocean, Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Syd The Kid (The Internet’s lead vocalist) has the voice of an angel, reminding us of the ever-so-dope females of the early 2000s (Aaliyah, Amerie, Mya, Tweet, etc.). Alongside Matt Martians and a group of young and dope musicians, The Internet is here to stay.
