Triple J’s Hottest 100 | LISTS

Every year on Australia Day (January 26 for those of you unaware), Australians from around the world tune in to what has become a national event in music. I am talking, of course, about the increasingly popular Hottest 100, hosted by Triple J. For the majority of readers this might mean nothing, given that it is determined by votes from listeners around the country. However; for the past 20 years, the Hottest 100 has built its reputation as being one of the greatest music polls in history. It is known for collating some of the best songs outside of commercial radio and delivering them in an exciting and social manner. In 2012, the top 10 featured the likes of Flume, Of Monsters and Men, Frank Ocean and Major Lazer, with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis taking the top spot.

This year’s top 10 can be found directly below, with the full list available here:
1. Vance Joy – Riptide
2. Lorde – Royals
3. Daft Punk – Get Lucky
4. Arctic Monkeys – Do I Wanna Know
5. Flume & Chet Faker – Drop The Game
6. Arctic Monkeys – Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High
7. Lana Del Ray – Young and Beautiful
8. Matt Corby – Resolution
9. The Preatures – Is This How You Feel
10. London Grammar – Strong
