UNICEF Tap Project: Hope For 900 Million People

Let’s take a break from music for a second and talk about something truly inspiring. In light of World Water Month, Unicef has launched a new project that aims give struggling communities around the world access to clean water. Unlike anything else, the initiative works by encouraging smartphone users to take a break from their device. For every 10 minutes of inactivity that is achieved, sponsor Giorgio Armani will donate the equivalent of one day’s worth of clean drinking to a child in need. Ingenious, right?

If you’re anything like me and can’t seem to put down your phone until it’s time to sleep, then I strongly urge you to give this a go. It was my new year’s resolution to be less reliant on technology and through this project, I can now do that whilst helping children in need. Not only does it benefit others, it can also be seen as a learning activity, allowing you to reflect and become more in tune with your surroundings.

You can access the webpage here [] on your mobile phones, and don’t worry, you have 10 seconds to put your phone down should you instinctively pick it up.
